You've probably seen this comparison around a lot, but I'm just gonna go ahead and post it again:

Shiver

I really like the UK version of the Uglies Series since it tells the story better, but if I had the chance to switch my copies for those, I think I would keep the US ones and the UK ones kind of freak me out-it would be kind of creepy to have them sitting on my bookshelf-lol)
As for Shiver, I think I like the UK version better. I love the white on black design and the red leaf really stands out on it. The US version is ok and really shows the cold climate that is in the book. I also really like the wolf hidden behind the vines. In the end though, I'd trade my copy for the UK one, but that's just me.

Review:
After reading the first book, I had to pick this one up and find out the rest of the story.

The Plot:

I didn't think this book was as good as the first because Moonlight had more action and suspense, but I guess this one had to have been less suspenseful so Rachel Hawthorne could blow us away with the last book. I can't remember the details of this book(which doesn't mean it was bad), but the parts that stick out were when the group was captured and when Rafe and Conner fought over Lindsey. I really liked those scenes because they made my heart race with anticipation for what would happen next.

Out of all of these, I really like Valiant(even though it's the UK cover) because the design is really eye catching and I love the colors. I also like Wicked Lovely because the flower on the front is different and looks really pretty. The design near the title also really draws my attention. Looking at all of them, Twilight seems the most boring to me. I know some people like the simple look, but it seems to simple when compared to the others. Do you agree?

So which cover do you like the best?

To kick off Rachel Hawthorne Day, I'm going to be reviewing the first two books in the Dark Guardian Series.(If you've read the book and have your own review add it to Mr. Linky.)

Review:
I don't even remember why I picked this book up(probably on one of my 'quick' trips to the bookstore), but I'm sooo glad I did.

The Plot:

First of all, I loved the whole soulmate thing(I wish I had one D= ) ever since I read the Nightworld Series by L.J. Smith. Anyways, back to this book, so from just reading the back, I was totally hooked. Moonlight was better than I expected it to be, with all of the twists and heart-pounding moments. Even though the action was suspenseful(which is one of my fav parts of a book), I really liked the romantic scenes because they just melted my heart--I could actually feel it turning to mush. The book was fast paced and had just the right amount of conflicts, anymore and it would have gotten confussing.
I can't wait to read the fate of the others and who they pick and what happens with Mason and his dad.

Characters:

Kayla was a really interesting character. I loved reading about her past and what happened to her parents. She was deep and not a flat character.
Same goes for Lucas. His family history added other problems that had me on the edge of my seat.

For the next couple of days, I need to catch up on working out(since pre-season starts on Saturday), so I won't be blogging until Saturday night--but I'll hopefully have time for another Cover Compare Friday(if you guys can think of a better name for it, please let me know-email me or leave a comment. thx). August 25th is an awesome day because Blood Promise, the 4th book in the Vampire Academy Series, by Richelle Mead, Tricks by Ellen Hopkins, and Dark of the Moon, the 3rd book in the Dark Guardian Series, by Rachel Hawthorne are hitting the shelves!!!! In honor of this great event, I'm dedicating Saturday, Sunday and Monday to each author. I don't think I'll be able to get an interview with any of them(and sorry no contests-if I had extra copies laying around I would absolutely hold one, but sadly I don't =( ), but if you like the authors or the series, come by and show your love.
